Composite

-Looking at membership gains and losses over the past 10 years

-In 1997 almost 150 people were removed from membership due to inactivity

-In 2003 almost 200 people were removed from membership due to inactivity

-Generally speaking we have gained more people than we have lost.






Migration by Transfer

-This chart shows the number of people per year who transferred into or out of Gethsemane

-Note that in 2006 we had fewer people transfer out than in previous years.

-In general more people transferred out than in.




Natural Increase/Decrease

-This shows membership gains and losses through child baptisms and deaths of members.

-The blue represents child baptisms

-The red represents member deaths





Outreach

-This graph shows our gains and losses of members through means other than transfers in or out of Gethsemane.

-The people gained as members through outreach are people who joined Gethsemane from the outside who did not transfer from other churches.

-The people who joined made a “Declaration of Faith” or possibly came into our church without any prior church background.

-The red sections show that people were removed by other means than transferring to another church.






Total Congregational Giving

-This is a breakdown of what we have been giving toward.

-The Blue line represents our giving for “Work at Home” or specifically for Gethsemane.

-The Green line represents our giving for “Work at Large” or for outside organizations, missions, etc. Examples: giving toward Lutheran High School Association, or toward outside missionaries like Jenae Siebarth

-The Yellow line shows our total level of giving.









Per Communicant Giving

-The blue line shows our level of giving based on our average worship attendance.

-We currently give about $4000 per year per attendee.

-The green line shows our level of giving based on our number of confirmed members [attending or not]

-Our level of giving per confirmed member has remained around $1000 per year per confirmed member.

-The blue line represents baptized members

-The green line represents confirmed members

-The yellow line shows our average worship attendance.

-As you can see, our attendance has stayed about the same regardless of our growth or decline in membership over the years.
